Strike La Panzer: Darjeeling

Its Darjeeling from Girls und Panzer as a mecha musume Churchill/Black Prince tank.

I envisioned Darjeeling as Inumuta ( I remember reading an article a while ago describing tests done by the British army on an active camouflage; the tank was made relatively invisible to IR and to visible light. Since Darjeeling represents the British tanks in Gup, this further accentuated this crossover. ) To top it off, I decided that the cannon should be mounted on her shoulder like the Predator alien.

I decided to not use the Churchill VII gun and instead use the 17pdr (and mantlet)  from the Black Prince. In my opinion, this gives her more equal 'footing' with Erika's and the inevitable Katyusha/Nonna's tank armaments. Drawing the gunmount was a difficult process, so I used references of anti-aircraft mounts with a little of improvisation to show how the gun is articulated to her shoulder.

For the 'familiar' and ear type, I initially was going to go with the bull dog, but I chose a fox instead. Since foxes have a reputation for being sly and cunning.

I think I solved some problems with designing a mecha-musume, I have a greater understanding on how to make them now. I solved the 'ammo rack' problem and how to apply motifs.
