EDIT 4.7.2017, Updated work to include signature I use now and changed the tonal values of the foreground
Well... technically not a town square... more like a round-about
EDIT: made minor corrections and made the lights less harsh
My magnum opus before I enter Law school...
A Valkyria Chronicles fan art featuring Marina Wulfstan and a heavy Imperial force. I think I outdid my previous work on VC by a mile. xD In addition, I made the entire pic similar to VC's 'CANVAS' shading in the game. (even including the white borders at the edge of the screen)
What started out as a simple redo of (fav.me/d594e0v) turned out to be something even I did not expect. Before I knew it, I was expanding the canvas more and more. I guess once them creative juices gets a-flowing, you cannot stop.
In this piece, I again took liberties with details.
For instance: the destroyed Gallian tank has elements of a Panzer II suspension and autocannon and a Panzer IV turret and armament. (after all, according to the artbook, The standard Gallian tank has the same 75 mm canon of a Panzer IV Ausf. D, and it was inspired by the Panzer II chassis). Marina is using a Kar98k and her overcoat is derived from German marksman coats from WWII.
Why the imperial tank has '612' ? That is because my Steam profile is "Lw612c"
When I was drawing this, I pulled out every WWII video game trope/feel I know and am aware of, (To name a few, I was inspired by things in Sniper Elite II, Company of Heroes, Brothers in Arms, World of Tanks, Call of duty(Waw and II especially) , etc.)
When drawing this.....
The treads of the tank were troublesome , Perspective was a pain... but I think it worked out in the end.
In retrospect, I think, in terms of composition, I made the left and right too eye heavy. I think I had tunnel vision and was focused too much on the little details while neglecting the whole pic.
But either way, I am proud of myself with this one.

Very nice! I gotta admit, this kinda brings memories of Sniper Elite, which is of course great...and would be even better with Marina.
